Ruard Veltman Q & A
Where do you find design inspiration?
Design inspiration comes from my surroundings. There is no telling what will ultimately inspire me so it’s always necessary to branch out and explore new, hence the power of travel.
How do you approach the design process?
My design process begins by asking a client, 'how do you want to live?', and my initial design is typically generated by my first, immediate thoughts that are captured in my sketchbook.
What makes your aesthetic stand out amongst other designers?
My goal is to have complete resolution within a space; I believe it's the balance of peacefulness and dramatization that draws upon people's emotions.
What is the greatest value you provide to your clients?
The ability to create "spaces" that they want to be in, and never knew they could live without.
