La transformation d'une nouvelle maison en grès brun dans le quartier historique de North End à Boston’ a nécessité la combinaison d'éléments typiques des entrepôts industriels classiques et d'une esthétique moderne inspirée de la Nouvelle-Angleterre. En utilisant des finitions authentiques, telles que d'audacieuses fenêtres à cadre en acier et des planchers en hickory vieilli, le concepteur Bruce Kading a réussi à créer une ambiance nuancée et intemporelle.
The luxurious finishes and top-quality appliances completed the look of this modern living environment. An integrated Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer are hidden behind custom ceruse oak paneling. A Wolf range is backed by an antique cast-iron fireplace fireback from 1788, and a 14-foot center island with a pewter countertop offers plenty of room for prepping and serving food. By taking cues from the colors and textures of the North End, Kading was able to achieve a cohesive, welcoming environment within the confines of the space.
