From Cluttered and Closed to Sunlit and Spacious

The homeowners, passionate hosts of family gatherings, envisioned a renovation that balanced their home’s charming character, functionality, and contemporary design. Their primary goal was to create an open, bright space that visually connected to the scenic backyard filled with mature oak trees. Additionally, the family's love for cooking and hosting necessitated a space that was both practical and stylish, with clean lines and concealed appliances.

OPENING UP THE SPACE

Knocking down a wall subsequently opened the kitchen to the dining room. This adjustment increased natural light and created a sense of openness, making the space feel larger and more welcoming.

CUSTOM BREAKFAST NOOK

Adding a breakfast nook provided a cozy spot for casual meals. To address ceiling lighting restrictions, the design incorporates a charming and functional wall-mounted light hooked over the table.

CONCEALED COUNTERTOP APPLIANCES

The breakfast nook serves double duty by keeping counters clear. Storage in the nook conceals the coffee machine, toaster, and blender, ensuring the kitchen maintains a sleek and uncluttered look.

MINIMALISTIC APPLIANCES

Sub-Zero and Wolf were the ideal fit for the space, aligning with the minimalistic design. Their sleek, unfussy design enhanced the kitchen's clean, function-first aesthetic.

SEAMLESS BAR INTEGRATION

To counteract the limited space in the main kitchen, the design includes a custom bar area complete with a Sub-Zero Wine Storage unit in the adjacent dining room, enhancing the flow and function between the two spaces.
