Haley's Hideaway

Regional Award Winner KDC 2010-12

"This contemporary home overlooks the pristine Whitefish Lake and stunning views of the surrounding mountain range. The need for serenity became paramount at this end of the road property hideaway. The strength of this home begins at entering the 10' high metal door
following along polished concrete floors to the wide open spaces of the main floor. The challenge for our design team was to incorporate a warm environment with contemporary elements. The color choice for the concrete floors became the key challenge in balancing warm tones with that of the efficient stainless steel appliances. The focal point in this open concept design was the matte glass subway tile wall which acts as a backdrop to the Stainless Steel Dual Fuel Wolf Range and Hood. The decision was made to eliminate the upper cabinets and to incorporate the Stainless Steel Sub-Zero Refrigerator with glass door front since this was the only wall in the kitchen without the floor to ceiling windows. Two Sub-Zero Wine Coolers are nested around the corner in the wine/butler pantry spanning one wall. This kitchen blends stainless steel and structural steel in a clean, refined look balancing strength and serenity."
