1st Place Transitional Kitchen Award Winner 2019-2021

Updating this historical farm property while paying homage to the original ranch structure was important to designer Mick De Giulio. It was also important to create an inside-outside feeling by combining elegance with the rustic and natural setting. It became the driver for the entire home in terms of spirit and mix of materials and elements.

With a nod to contemporary lifestyles, the design team was able to create space to accommodate and display the homeowner’s art and collectibles. The Wolf range created a sense of sleek strength and sculpture. Facades were created for the Sub-Zero integrated refrigeration, so they folded perfectly into the space. Because of historic codes, the new structure had to be rebuilt upon the existing foundation. By balancing the volume created by the newly designed open spaces and vaulted ceiling, De Giulio was able to create a design that felt warm, comfortable, and intimate.
