Gallery-Inspired Retreat in the Mountains of British Columbia
Nestled near a ski resort, this mountain home is a sanctuary where art and culinary experiences converge. The homeowners, passionate about both fine art and gourmet cooking, envisioned a gallery-inspired kitchen that showcases their collection while enhancing their culinary endeavors. The desired functionality discreetly integrates into the design, allowing the art and the mountain views to take center stage.
ART-GALLERY INSPIRED LOOK
Resembling an art gallery, with clean lines and unobtrusive appliances, this design ensures the homeowners' art collection remains the focal point, blending gourmet functionality with artistic expression.
DISTRIBUTED REFRIGERATION
The Sub-Zero Refrigerator Column and Freezer Column are separate, bookending the space seamlessly behind paneled doors. While the homeowners were at first wary of this design choice—it was something they had never before considered—the distributed refrigeration enhances the kitchen’s flow while maintaining visual balance.
UNOBTRUSIVE COOKING PERFORMANCE
While the contemporary Wolf appliances integrate unobtrusively into the design, their superior functionality stands out, proving that powerful cooking performance can coexist with a sleek design.
HIDDEN PANTRY
By concealing the pantry, the space stays clutter-free and minimalist while providing essential storage and functionality.
