Where do you find design inspiration?
I find my design inspiration everywhere - fashion, food, art, nature, history, architecture. Creative minds in every field inspire me.
I listen to my clients but I also try to understand the space and their lifestyle. I try to push my clients to a place slightly in the future, a place that reflects their tastes but is more sophisticated.
How does your aesthetic stand out amongst other designers/architects?
My personal aesthetic moves from classic to modern, retaining the inherent beauty of each style, always infusing some relevance to the time without being trendy.
What is the greatest value you provide your client?
My greatest value is my ability to understand what my clients’ want their home to look and feel like, and to create an interior they love now and will love over time.
What is your biggest challenge as a designer/architect?
My biggest challenge is pushing a client without losing sight of their wants and trusting my creativity.
What does the Sub-Zero and Wolf Kitchen Design Contest mean to you?
Creativity and designing interiors brings me such pleasure. The contest brings a recognition from others in the industry that is validating, which is an honor.
What are some of the current design trends?
We are seeing refreshing hip designers creating bench-made products that challenge and surprise. Bespoke design is "in" and allowing an "anything goes" trend to stay the course.
Where do you see kitchen design going in the next 5 years?
The future of kitchen design is about individualization. Whether it's about form or function, kitchen design is going to be dictated not by anything "trendy" but purely by the client's lifestyle.
